MacBook setup

Overview

Install Node 22.18 or later, pnpm 9.15.0 and Docker Desktop or Colima. Clone the MailRaft repository, switch to main and pull with --ff-only.

Setup & requirements

Run pnpm install --frozen-lockfile, pnpm dev:up, pnpm db:local:migrate, pnpm db:local:seed, pnpm check and pnpm dev. Local fixtures stay in the local stack. Use the private repository’s MAC-HANDOFF for the verified commit and exact test commands.

Usage & verification

The verified VPS toolchain is Node 22.23.1 and pnpm 9.15.0; Docker Engine 29.6.2 and Compose 5.3.1. Apple Silicon and Docker Desktop compatibility still need a Mac run. Keep development on the local stack; never copy production secrets into a checkout.

After local startup run pnpm test:local:db, node tests/integration/local-api.mjs and node tests/integration/local-integrations.mjs. Install Chromium with pnpm exec playwright install chromium and run pnpm test:e2e. Google consent and approved provider resources need separate owner acceptance.
